Personal
While studying at Ursinus College, Dr. Hays met a committed believer, Randy Kolb. Randy introduced Dr. Hays to the truth of the gospel and discipled him to walk personally with Jesus Christ. After two years, Dr. Hays sensed a call to ministry and pursued a theological education.
Dr. Hays is married to Margré, a Dutch national from the town of Andijk. Margré is a gifted minister and currently serves as the Netherlands National Director for Community Bible Studies International (
www.cbsi.nl). They met while students at Philadelphia Biblical University.

Dr. Hays and his wife have been married 25 years and have 4 children. Their daughters are completing their studies at Philadelphia Biblical University (
www.pbu.edu). Their two sons are completing high school. All are musical, and the Hays family has enjoyed leading worship in churches together. Also, as “crisis care” foster parents, they have also been blessed to foster another 9 children. One thing this experience has taught Dr. Hays is the quality of the unconditional love of God, since God stepped into his life to rescue and care for him when he was spiritually unable to survive.
In their free time, Dr. Hays and his wife enjoy making music with their children and sailing on the IJsselmeer. Both have yachting certification and would like to venture out on longer sailing adventures to England, Denmark, Norway, and France.
Ministry
Dr. and Mrs. Hays have been involved with various ministries through the years, including church-based youth ministry, short-term missions trips to Belgium, Borneo and Brazil, and Christian Counseling. Before coming to Holland, the Hays were involved in church-planting in Amarillo and Van Alstyne, Texas.
Twenty years ago Dr. Hays and his wife joined Greater Europe Mission (
www.gemission.org) and were sent to Holland as missionaries. There, by God’s grace, they planted a church in Alkmaar, ½ hour north of Amsterdam. The church has been handed over to a Dutch national pastor and continues to grow.
Beginning in 1995, Dr. Hays began teaching at TTS, first in an adjunct role (1995-2007), and then full-time (2007-present). Dr. Hays has taught Evangelizing Postmoderns, CellChurch Theology, Cross Cultural Christianity, Bibliology, Leadership, Eschatology, and Christology. Dr. Hays also teaches in Dutch at Tyndale by Extension, and has taught Kolossenzen (Colossians).
