Tyndale Seminary in the Netherlands, a missions-focused, accredited, graduate professional university is seeking applications from qualified candidates for its Vice-President for Administration position. Responsibilities include oversight of staff in the day-to-day operations/finances of the campus and potential expansion plans. As Tyndale is a missionary ministry, candidates must be willing and able to raise their own support.

POSITION:

Vice-President for Administration

 

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Acts a member of the senior management team of the Seminary and is acting chief financial officer.

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

 

1. Demonstrates and models for all the members of the Campus family and visitors a vital Christian walk and character, worthy to be emulated by future church leaders.

 

2. Serves as a member of the President’s cabinet providing insight and direction for the operations and future of the Seminary.

 

3. Oversees all day-to-day business operations of the school in its Dutch and US incorporations.

 

4. Oversees residential campus life (housing and food service) through the Dean of Students and Dean of Women

 

5. Acts as chief financial officer for the school in preparing and executing annual budgets, expenditures and purchases; reviews daily financial operations and accounting practices

 

6. Supervises the care of properties, equipments and all IT functions through the appropriate staff member.

 

7. Represents and markets the ministry and work of Tyndale as directed by the President

 

8. Acts as Quality Manger for the school and its ISO 9000 system.

 

9. May assume oversight on behalf of the school for potential future campus expansion.

 

10. Leads and cares for staff team of the Seminary.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

The successful candidate will be able a mature Christian believer able to adapt to the exciting, but challenging world of cross cultural living, both on and off campus. An enthusiasm for missions and education are mandatory. Demonstrated administrative and team leadership ability is essential. Preferably the applicant will have a degree in a technical or business field. Theological training a definite plus.



ARRANGEMENTS:

Like all Faculty and Staff at Tyndale, this is a missions position. The successful candidate must raise their own support and be sent (usually) through a missions organization. Tyndale will assist in each step of this process, as needed. Tyndale may be able to help with some of the transition expenses of the successful candidate when support raising-targets are met. The Seminary will provide extensive assistance in the numerous details of relocation to Europe.

We're Growing! -THREE FACULTY POSITIONS AVAILABLE

ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF NEW TESTAMENT STUDIES

 

The Seminary is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join its team of faculty and staff in their work of developing men and women as thinking, creative and prepared leaders for Kingdom service world- wide. This takes place in an exciting, cross-cultural and residential training situation. This post is for a third faculty member in NT Studies.

 

The candidate should be focused on teaching and mentoring students in an institute that emphasizes spiritual growth, pastoral and missiological application of learning, as well as becoming competent and contemporary in theological matters. Research, writing, and publishing is encouraged and expected to some degree but there is no "publish or perish" environment. As time and opportunity permits, instructors are encouraged to serve as visiting lectures in partner schools in Eastern and/or Western Europe. It is essential that the candidate be committed to the development of the overall spiritual and devotional life of the seminary.

 

Position available (full-time):

Assistant/Associate Professor of NT Studies (Language and Literature; academic rank to be determined based on credentials) 

 

 

While the successful candidate must provide his/her own financial support, preferably through a recognized sending or receipting agency, the seminary will do all in its power to assist with this process. The faculty and staff of the institute are well experienced with and successful in the process. TTS Statement of Faith

 

Courses or seminars will be delivered at one time or another for evening and extension school, distance education, on-line training, and residential day classes for Certificate, MDiv, and "MA"-type programs. Oversight of theses will also be included. Typical courses will be Hebrew, Hebrew Exegesis, OT Introduction; various OT book or sectional studies (expositional and exegetical); OT Theology; OT Ethics; OT Textual Criticism; OT Historical and Cultural Backgrounds; OT Archaeology.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF INTERCULTURAL STUDIES AND PRACTICAL MINISTRY

 

THE CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO RAISE HIS/HER OWN SALARY & BENEFITS PACKAGE FROM INTERESTED FRIENDS/CHURCHES 
 

DUTIES:
 
• Preparation and teaching of courses related to missiology and practical ministry courses.
• Evaluate and supervise course work of students.
• Guide and evaluate students in their thesis work.
• Provide academic and spiritual counsel to students.
• Publish articles and books on missions and practical ministry.
• To provide an active model of godly living before the students. 
• Organize courses and recruit professors for mission and practical ministry courses.
• Assist and work in collaboration with the Academic Dean in issues related to curriculum and other academic matters.
• Attend all academic and faculty meetings.
• Work cordially in collaboration with other faculty and staff members.
 
 
 
REQUIREMENTS: 


• Minimum ten years experience in cross-cultural Christian contexts
• Excellent skills in the English language equivalent to a native speaker/writer including satisfactory command of English written style
• Educational experience to a minimum a PhD in Missiology
• Minimum of ten years experience in local church ministry leadership positions (pastor, elder, etc.)
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at university level.
• Experience in mentoring in one-on-one relationships
• Willingness and ability to raise own salary and benefits on a charitable basis (salary & benefits channeled through TTS organization but not provided by organization)
• Willingness to work over-time/unusual hours when required
• Stated commitment to the Historic Christian faith
• Sound moral character as witnessed to by suitable references
• Willingness to assist in other ministries of the seminary (practical education, mentoring, administration, etc.)
