This collection of essays is dedicated to our much esteemed and beloved colleague, Dr. Ellis R. Brotzman. Ellis and his wife, Ruth, have been serving the Lord on the European continent for more than thirty years. The last two decades have been spent at Tyndale Theological Seminary where Ellis is Senior Professor of Old Testament Language and Literature, and Chair of the Division of Biblical and Exegetical Studies.

Through the years, Ellis has been greatly appreciated as a professor whose love for and commitment to God, His Word, his students, and teaching is obvious. He has been a tremendous example of one who is a scholar with a pastor’s heart. All who have worked alongside Ellis, or studied under him, know him to be a faithful, kind, compassionate, humble-spirited, godly man.

It is, then, with great delight and respect that we dedicate this book to our friend and brother in Christ, Ellis Brotzman, whose life and work have brought honor and glory to His Lord. As he nears completion of his service at Tyndale, we pray God’s richest blessings upon him. We’ll miss you, Ellis. Shalom.
