Senior Management Position Available

Tyndale Seminary is seeking applications from qualified candidates for its Vice-President for Administration position. Responsibilities include oversight of staff in the day-to-day operations/finances of the campus and potential expansion plans.

POSITION:

Vice-President for Administration

 

KEY FUNCTIONS:

 

Acts a member of the senior management team of the Seminary and is acting chief financial officer.

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

 

1. Demonstrates and models for all the members of the Campus family and visitors a vital Christian walk and character, worthy to be emulated by future church leaders.

 

2. Serves as a member of the President’s cabinet providing insight and direction for the operations and future of the Seminary.

 

3. Oversees all day-to-day business operations of the school in its Dutch and US incorporations.

 

4. Oversees residential campus life (housing and food service) through the Dean of Students and Dean of Women.

 

5. Acts as chief financial officer for the school in preparing and executing annual budgets, expenditures and purchases; reviews daily financial operations and accounting practices.

 

6. Supervises the care of properties, equipments and all IT functions through the appropriate staff members.

 

7. Represents and markets the ministry and work of Tyndale as directed by the President

 

8. Acts as Quality Manger for the school and its ISO 9000 system.

 

9. May assume oversight on behalf of the school for potential future campus expansion.

 

10. Leads and cares for the staff team of the Seminary.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Finances -

·         Through the Accountant and Director of Operations - supervise the organization of records of accounts, bank statements, etc. with clear balance sheets and profit and loss statements for the Board of Directors meetings.

·         Through the Accountant - prepare annual financial reports within a few weeks after the close of each fiscal year.

·         Oversee the timely handling of all donations (e.g., recording, receipts, thank-you letters).

·         Supervise the payment of all bills and filing of invoices.

·         Create the annual budget for the Board of Directors approval at its spring meeting.

·         Oversee the activities of the bookstore.

·         Oversee the purchase of equipment, supplies, etc., in keeping with budget.

·         Oversee student Housing needs through the Dean of Students and Facilities Manager

Facilities:

·         Through the Facilities Manager - Oversee the maintenance of the facility including student housing relative to cleanliness, repairs, improvements, remodeling, etc.

·         Oversee student work program as students are assigned by the Dean of Students.

Office Organization:

·         Manage the front office spaces through the Front Office Manager.

·         Manage Campus IT functions through a Director of Operations

·         Manage individuals under his responsibilities to ensure that expectations are communicated and executed in a timely manner.

Missions, Conference and Church Ministries:

·         Pursue invitations to annual gatherings/conferences of mission agencies with significant work in Europe, such as GEM, ReachGlobal, World Venture, etc.  Encourage missionaries to further their training, if necessary, and to encourage those they view as future leaders of the church in their country to attend TTS.

·         Consider which Europe-wide and North American gatherings would be profitable to attend in order to make others more aware of the TTS ministry. Arrange for TTS personnel to attend such gatherings.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

 

The successful candidate will be a mature Christian believer able to adapt to the exciting, but challenging world of cross-cultural living, both on and off campus. An enthusiasm for missions and education are mandatory. Demonstrated administrative and team leadership ability are essential. Preferably the applicant will have a degree in a technical or business field. Theological training a definite plus.

ARRANGEMENTS:

 

Like all Faculty and Staff at Tyndale, this is a missions position. The successful candidate must raise their own support and be sent (usually) through a missions organization. Tyndale will assist in each step of this process, as needed. Tyndale may be able to help with some of the transition expenses of the successful candidate when support raising-targets are met. The Seminary will provide extensive assistance in the numerous details of relocation to Europe.
